The Texas Christian Ashram
The Texas Christian Ashram began in 1949 in central Texas, meeting for many years in Kerrville, then later at Lakeview Methodist Assembly in Palestine, and still later at Scottsville Camp and Conference Center just outside of Marshall. Scottsville Camp is a family retreat center nestled in the piney woods that goes back to the year 1888 and has proven to be a comfortable place of our gathering.

Denton Florian
DirectorDenton Florian is a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church located just north of Houston, Texas. His association with the Texas Christian Ashram began as a child in the 1960s and has been continuous for the last 40 years. "I have been able to learn from some of the most renowned biblical scholars in the world at the Texas Christian Ashram and have made dozens of life-long friends." Denton is a graduate of both the University of Texas at Austin and Texas State University and for fun enjoys photography and the great outdoors. He and his wife, Mary Lou, have been married for 30 years and have two children, Mindy and Daniel.
